91 120 Loaned To Crewe Heritage Centre
The Crewe built electric locomotive 91 120 joins the Heritage Centre lineup on long-term loan from Europhoenix.
Thanks to an agreement between the Crewe Heritage Trust and Europhoenix we are delighted to announce the arrival of British Rail Class 91 (91 120), pictured below on Wednesday evening shortly after arriving at the Heritage Centre.
We would like to extend thanks to our friends at Europhoenix for their kind support with this project, the locomotive will be on display at the Heritage Centre from this weekend.
A total of 31 class 91 locomotives were constructed by British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) here in Crewe between 1988 and 1991 with the locomotives spending the majority of their lives on the East Coast mainline running between London and Edinburgh.

91 010 (now 91 110) holds the British locomotive speed record at 260 km/h (161.7 mph) which was set on 17th September 1989.
91 031 (now 91 131) was the last locomotive to be built at Crewe Works in March 1991.
